Playwriting Project
I worked on this play proposal for the Great Dionysus Project with two other classmates, Clarissa and Cesar. I thought up the idea and wrote the entire script. We had to have an early draft of the script and a storyboard. Clarissa and Cesar handled the storyboard part pretty well, and I worked my hardest on crafting a great script.

The Great Dionysus Project
This project focused around Theater and Greek Tragedy. From the previous project, we took a single script out of the entire class and made it everyone's focus. "Don't Mean A Thing" became our play. We all were assigned roles like "Actors", "Set", "Backdrop", etc.
The play that my class worked on, was the play I wrote for the "Playwriting Project". The play was titled "Don't Mean A Thing". It follows two brothers who are sent to Vietnam and serve as Marines in 3rd Battalion-3rd Marines at Khe Sanh Combat base in 1968. The older brother, Paul, decides to sacrifice the bond he shares with his brother in exchange for acceptance amongst the other Marines of the unit. He decides that he doesn't want to have to be his brother's "babysitter" anymore. His decisions have dire consequences, and as a result his little brother loses his life.
After my play was picked above all the others, I was given a team of writers. Together with Carmen, Kenneth, Lucy, and Emma we wrote the final script. After the script was finished, I became the Director of the play since the story was originally my idea. As Director, I oversaw the production of the play. I managed all the work groups such as Lights/Sound, Set, Backdrop, Poster, Costumes, etc. I had a minor appearance onstage during the prologue, but other than that I helped the actors memorize their lines and made small edits and changes to the script as we went along.
This is by far one of the greatest projects I've had the honor of working on. These are a great group of kids that I was able to work with. I couldn't have picked finer individuals to help me produce and bring this play to life on the stage. My hard work payed off in the end, on the final night of performances when we were handed awards. My play got "Best Set", "Best Costumes", "Best Lights/Sound", "Best Main Actor", "Best Chorus", and I got "Best Director"

San Diego Through The Lens
For this project, my partners and I had to pick a neighborhood with its own community in the San Diego area. From there we had to research, take pictures of, and video the selected neighborhood. By exhibition, we'd have a research binder full of interviews and historical information and an brief 8 minute documentary on the neighborhood. My group chose North Park.
My work mainly focused on taking footage of North Park with my camcorder, then uploading it to a mac and editing our documentary. I'd spend entire class periods constantly working on sifting through the footage and piecing necessary bits together to create the final documentary.
I learned a lot about the community we chose, North Park. I learned that San Diego is also a very diverse place, North park is just one of many other communities all around southern California. If given the opportunity, I'd just wish we had more time to edit our videos.
